Pattern 100: The First Word of Genesis 1:1 in Phi

Why this pattern matters

The first Hebrew word, בראשית, has a traditional value of 913 and an alphabet-position value of 76. Writing the position before the value gives 76913. Reversing this five-digit number gives 31967.

Pattern 100 uses 31967 both to determine five locations in phi and as the five-digit target. The digits found at those locations reproduce 31967 exactly.

How this pattern is measured

First, combine the position and traditional value of word 1:

Begin at position 444 in the decimal digits of phi. For each successive digit of 31967, add that digit and 7 to the preceding position:

The digits of phi at positions 454, 462, 478, 491, and 505 are respectively 3, 1, 9, 6, and 7. Together they reproduce 31967.

Decimal positions are counted after the decimal point; the initial digit 1 and the decimal point are not included.

Comparison-sentence test

A separate computer search examined 191,021,593 sentences. One non-Genesis sentence contained a word with the same value 913 and position value 76 while also meeting the other stated sentence conditions.

In the comparison sentence, the matching word occurs second rather than first. This corpus result therefore uses a broader rule than the exact Genesis 1:1 pattern and is reported separately.
