Genesis 1:1 Has a Mispar Shemi Value of 5476

Mispar Shemi, also called milui or full-name value, replaces each Hebrew letter with the standard gematria value of that letter’s fully spelled name. For example, aleph is spelled אלף, so its value is 1 + 30 + 80 = 111.

Some Hebrew letter names have more than one accepted spelling. Therefore, a Mispar Shemi total depends on the particular full spellings selected. This page documents the spelling convention that gives Genesis 1:1 the value 5476.

בראשית ברא אלהים את השמים ואת הארץ

The English ordinal comparison

Using A1–Z26 English ordinal values, in which A = 1, B = 2, and so on:

JESUS = 10 + 5 + 19 + 21 + 19 = 74
74 × 74 = 5476

Since 74 = 37 + 37, the comparison also contains two occurrences of 37.

Credibility note: The equality is exact under the stated Mispar Shemi spelling convention and the stated English A1–Z26 system. Because it compares two independently selected language-number systems, it is presented as a supporting numerical curiosity rather than as an independent statistical result.
